Product Description

SOLD: Gem Clear Large Cabinet Arkansas Cluster with True DOW Crystal
The absolute star of this cluster is a true Dow crystal, more than extremely rare. 3/8x 1-1/4” tall, you might be forgiven for noticing it only after your fleeting appraisal of the 5/8x 2-1/2” growth-cratered channel faced point, or the elegant 1/2x 2” rare shield faced tabular crystal - but only a crystal with 3 same-sized channel faces alternating with three triangular faces is a Dow and perfectly balanced. [Unmatched alternating channel and triangular termination faced crystals are called transmitters.]

Of course you might finally get to the other side and marvel at more rainbows, a few rare irises, a fine diamond window crystal.

This is a plate bottomed cluster of infinite gifts with many lessons to teach. 5x 4x >2 ¾” tall overall, there are ancient conchoidals which give small flat areas on top, each in stages of regrowth and making this an excellent charging cluster as well. A minor chip here and there does not detract.

From the closed Clear Creek Mining Co, Hogjaw area, Montgomery County, Arkansas - 1997.
